Vehicle Trade Insurance

For the Bona – Fide dealer of vehicles operating on a full time basis from home or a showroom or car-lot. Being a registered business, VAT rated and keeping stock records.

Vehicle Trade Insurance is ideally suited for:

• Saloons, specialist or high performance vehicles.
• Vans, Trucks, HGV’s
• Plant and equipment dealers
• Motor Cycles / Trike dealers
• Importers of vehicles including the USA and Canada
• Exports of vehicles and vehicle parts
• Sale of KIT cars and assemblers of cars

Our Motor Trade policy provides:

• Permanently Owned Vehicles:
  Those vehicles disclosed to us on the MID are covered on a ‘Retail value’ basis and 24 hours cover irrespective of where parked
• Stock Vehicles:
  Vehicles passing through your hands, including customers and other dealer’s vehicles on a sale or return basis. These are covered on an indemnity basis. Social, Domestic and Pleasure cover is excluded as they are not disclosed under the MID.
• Demonstration Cover:
  Provided you have requested this extension, you can allow a member of the public to test drive your own or stock vehicles provided that you accompany them for the purposes of demonstrating the vehicle.
• Trade Plate Cover:
  You must disclose the Trade Plate Number’s under Own vehicles as we need in turn to disclose these to the MID. Cover on Trade Plates excludes Social, Domestic and Pleasure, but provides you with valuable movement cover on non registered or taxed vehicles. Trade plates are not acceptable to deliver or collect vehicles from abroad.

• Employers Liability. Full time/ casual and Part-time employees
• Stock vehicles coverage at your premises, at other addresses or sub- contractor’s premises, specified or unspecified vehicles, SORN vehicles
• Legal expenses insurance, Uninsured loss recovery, Personal Injury, Motor prosecutions, contract disputes with customers and suppliers
• Breakdown on specified vehicles basis (permanently owned vehicles) or on a named driver but unspecified vehicle basis
